Heros is a genus of cichlids native to the Amazon, Orinoco and Essequibo River basins in South America. They were previously included in the genus Cichlasoma before its restriction to the distinct group of "Port Cichlids."
Rainbow Severum, Like most of their relatives, these fish are fairly peaceful for a large cichlid, and will usually coexist well in a mixed cichlid community composed of similarly sized semi-aggressive fish.
It is omnivore and will accept most frozen and prepared foods
Its vibrant reddish-orange coloration and distinctive orange eyes makes it a great fish to have in your South American Cichlids Collection or Community Tank.
